Elms Collection
The Penn State Elms Collection is a program of recovery that repurposes lumber salvaged from American Elms from the University Park Campus that succumbed to phloem necrosis – a disease for which there is no treatment. The PSU heritage grove featured one of the largest remaining stands of American Elms in North America. These trees, many of enormous stature, shaded central campus for over a hundred years. Sales from the elms collection benefits projects of the Penn State Alumni Association as well as helping to fund reforestation of the University Park Campus.
